Youth Ambassador

The Humanitarian Affairs Youth Ambassador Programme cultivates potential young leaders by entrusting them with the responsibility of being selected representatives for Humanitarian Affairs. Youth Ambassadors are dynamic individuals who represent Humanitarian Affairs in their home country, and facilitate in the networking and mobilisation of the next generation of young leaders. Their goal is to serve as an inspiration and encourage fellow students to participate in the programs of Humanitarian Affairs, and to promote H.A. events at their individual Universities or Organisations.

A Youth Ambassador’s Role

  • Disseminate information and encourage participation in all H.A. conferences and events
  • Promote H.A. on Facebook, blogs, Twitter and other social media
  • Be a role model in advocating humanitarian needs
  • Reach out to communities in need
  • Engage in galvanising the youth in humanitarian work
  • Endorse H.A. programmes both locally and globally
  • Leverage H.A. resources to meet the needs of young people
  • Raise awareness on the benefits of H.A. Programmes to students and youth worldwide

The highly sought-after role of a Humanitarian Affairs Youth Ambassador is a privileged and prestigious one. Each year the organisation receives hundreds of applications from which a select few are chosen to assume the mantle of an H. A. Ambassador.

How Can You Benefit

Are You Eligible to Apply ?

  • Applicants must have participated in H.A. Programmes
  • They should have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as a positive learning attitude teamed with interpersonal skills
  • They must demonstrate strong leadership skills
  • They need to be well versed in using social media
  • All aspirants must be graduates with an advanced academic degree or in the process of obtaining one

Steps to becoming our next Youth Ambassador

  • All applications should be submitted to Humanitarian Affairs United Kingdom via email: secretariat@humanitarianaffairs.org.uk or through our Online Application Form
  • Each application must include: the aspirant’s curriculum vitae, a cover letter explaining the applicant’s interest in becoming a Youth Ambassador while highlighting relevant skills, educational background, and experience; in addition, applicants must present an action plan with a list of proposed activities in the event of being selected as an Ambassador of Humanitarian Affairs
  • Those selected as Youth Ambassadors will undergo an initial probation for 7-months; on the successful completion of this probation period, only those committed to the programme will be appointed as H.A. Youth Ambassadors for a one year period
  • Finally, an annual review will be conducted for any further extension of their appointed duty
